POS 2041 - American National Government

A study of the structures and processes of American national government. Topics include the Constitution, the presidency, Congress, the federal court system, political parties and elections, foreign policy formulation, and current critical and controversial issues. Special focus on the dynamics of government will include the role of the media in politics, minority and civil rights, and economic policy formulation. The primary General Education learning outcome for this course is Critical Thinking: Demonstrate the skills necessary for analysis, synthesis, evaluation, decision making, critical and creative thinking and the creative process.
