HIM 2214 - Healthcare Statistics

All prerequisite courses are required.
Prerequisite(s): HIM1000, HIM1800C with minimum grade of C
Corequisite(s): None

This course is designed to provide an introduction to the most frequently used healthcare statistics. Topics will include terminology, definitions, computations, data display, and the use of vital statistics. Students will learn how to compute and interpret healthcare statistics such bed days, mortality rates, etc. Students will also review Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes and policies. Course must be passed with a grade of C or better. Note: Projects within the course will require use of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Prezi, Access, and the Internet.
