OCE 1001 - Introduction to Oceanography

A film of water that fills a system of basins that we call the world ocean covers about 71 percent of our earth’s surface. Oceanography is the study of this world ocean from a physical, chemical, biological, and geological viewpoint. The course earns General Education credit under the Physical Sciences category for which successful students will demonstrate the skills necessary to understand and apply scientific concepts and reasoning, including the analysis and interpretation of various types of data.
