The certificate in Mobile Gaming Entrepreneurship is a 30-credit hour program that provides students with an introduction to the field of business development and entrepreneurship with a focus on building mobile gaming applications and bringing applications to the market. All courses must be passed with a grade of C or higher to receive the certificate.
The certificate includes coursework in financial accounting, database management, programming, mobile app development, information security, introduction to business, management, entrepreneurship, and a special topics course that will include exposure to business support services available through SF’s Center for Innovation and Economic Development (CIED).
Students may leave SF after completion of this innovative program to become a mobile app entrepreneur or enter the workforce in the mobile app gaming industry in a position such as video game designer.

After successfully completing this program, the student will be able to
- Demonstrate knowledge of management and leadership concepts.
- Demonstrate effective business communication skills.
- Evaluate compliance of legal, ethical, risk management, or financial requirements.
- Apply knowledge in operational and financial functions when acquiring, analyzing, managing, and securing data/information.
- Create and maintain database objects, store, retrieve and manipulate data stored in a relational database.
- Develop software applications in several programming languages that includes programming structures, arrays, object-oriented principle, and libraries and perform industry standard testing activities.
- Demonstrate fundamental proficiency in foundational security essentials.
- Gain comprehensive project experience in the development of hybrid mobile applications on popular platforms used on modern mobile devices, covering hardware capabilities and limitations, the development environment, and the communications infrastructure

- Students need a C or higher in all coursework
- Students are urged to make an appointment to see Santa Fe College’s Business Programs Advisor once each semester to ensure that adequate progress is being made.
- Students must apply for graduation upon enrollment in their last semester of coursework.
