Leadership for Industry, A.S.

Santa Fe College’s Associate in Science (A.S.) in Leadership for Industry degree is a 60-credit hour program that recognizes and builds on and previous industry-related training and provides students with business education to prepare them for transition into leadership roles.

Students who successfully complete the A.S. in Leadership for Industry degree may apply to the Santa Fe College Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Management (BAS OM) program. The BAS OM program further develops students’ knowledge and skills to succeed in leadership positions in business, government, and nonprofit organizations.

Requirements for Admission

If a student is not at college level, they would take the prep classes before beginning the program courses but could still be admitted.

To be eligible to articulate into this program, students must have completed a registered apprenticeship program or post-secondary certificate in a relevant technical field. Example apprenticeship programs and certificates include:

  • Automotive Service Technology Certificate
  • Building Maintenance and Management Certificate
  • Carpentry Apprenticeship
  • Diesel Service Technology Certificate
  • Electrical Construction Apprenticeship
  • Electrical Equipment Technician Apprenticeship
  • Field Electrical Equipment Technician Apprenticeship
  • Heating and Air Conditioning Apprenticeship
  • Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning/Refrigeration Technology Certificate
  • Line Worker Apprenticeship
  • Meter Technician
  • Plumbing Apprenticeship
  • Relay and System Protection Technician Apprenticeship
  • Substation Technician Apprenticeship
  • Power System Operator Apprenticeship
  • Welding Technology Certificate
  • Other Apprenticeship and Certificate Programs Reviewed and Approved by Faculty Subject Matter Experts, Program Advisors, and College Leadership

Program Goals and Outcomes

After successful completion of the program, students will achieve the following learning outcomes and be able to:

  • Motivate oneself.
  • Employ creative thinking to achieve business objectives and solve problems.
  • Demonstrate appropriate business and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of entrepreneurship.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of information-processing activities.

Program Length:

  • Credit Hours: 60
  • Time to Completion: 2 Years (Part Time)

Need C or higher in all coursework to graduate.

All students are encouraged to make an appointment with a SF  Business Programs Advisor once each semester to ensure that adequate progress toward the degree is being made. All students must apply for graduation upon enrollment in their last semester of coursework.
