Finances

Cashier’s Office

Located on the first floor of the Robertson Administration Building with business hours from 8:00 to 4:30, Monday-Friday. All Financial Aid awards are disbursed through BankMobile. Students will receive a BankMobile SF SmartCard when they are first enrolled at Santa Fe. Financial Aid awards begin disbursing no earlier than three (3) weeks after the start of each term.

This department is responsible for collecting monies owed to the college such as Short Term Loans, Fees, and Title IV Repayments. If internal efforts are unsuccessful, outstanding accounts will be transferred to external collection agencies and reported to the Credit Bureau(s). Any additional fees owed to the collection agency shall be the responsibility of the debtor.

Financial Aid

College is an investment. How much you spend depends on your personal finances, but you can be sure the value of a Santa Fe College education is second to none.

Financial aid helps students and their families pay for college. This financial assistance helps cover educational expenses and related costs. There are several types of financial aid, including grants and scholarships, work study and loans. Some types, like scholarships, can require additional searches and applications.

Financial aid applicants are encouraged to begin the process early. The first step in applying for federal financial aid is completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Financial Literacy

There’s a slew of free apps for your mobile phone that can simplify your financial tasks. Among our favorites are apps from Mint.com to track your spending and investments, Allpoint and Moneypass to find surcharge-free ATMs nearby, and CheckPlease Lite to easily calculate a tip or divide a restaurant check.

Scholarships

The Santa Fe College Foundation offers a variety of scholarships to students graduating from Alachua and Bradford Counties and all other students entering Santa Fe College. These opportunities are made available through generous private contributions.

Eligibility requirements vary depending on the degree program and the scholarships selected. Foundation scholarships are based on financial need, scholastic achievement, or special talent, depending on the specific scholarship criteria.

SF SmartCard/Higher One

Santa Fe College has partnered with Higher One, a company that specializes in student refund payment services, to provide students with free direct deposit of Financial Aid and refunds from Santa Fe via the SF SmartCard. With the SF SmartCard, payments are delivered in the manner the student chooses Easy Refund to the student’s OneAccount, ACH transfer (direct deposit) to the student’s bank account, or via a check mailed via US Mail (within 7 calendar days) if no deposit selection is made.
