ART 1301C - Drawing 2 (Life Drawing)

Credit Hours: 3.0
Prerequisite(s): ART1300C with C
Corequisite(s): None
Continues with the development of basic skills and elements of descriptive drawing from Beginning Drawing while serving as an introduction to figure drawing. In studying the human figure, this course utilizes the live, nude model. Students will become further familiarized with the basic vocabulary and conventions of objective drawing processes and media while emphasizing an enhanced perceptual awareness and eye/hand motor skills. This course provides the foundation to address figural problems encountered in other studio courses involving the human figure such as Life Painting, and aids in preparing students to apply for entry to upper-division programs through the development of a body of portfolio-quality figure drawings. It is expected that students enrolled in this course have successfully completed Beginning Drawing (either at SF or the equivalent course at another institution). Other equivalent experience such as AP credit may be substituted. All claims to prerequisite equivalency must be verified by the Visual and Performing Arts Department prior to registration.
Parallel: College Transfer (A.A. and A.S)
