PAZ 2551 - Animal Breeding

An introduction to the principles and practices of animal breeding. Students will receive instruction in the modes of inheritance and the biology of reproduction as well as the requirements for animal reproduction. Established practices developed for domestic species will be stressed, and their relation to exotic species management will be discussed. Case studies and rationales for scientific management of breeding programs will also be emphasized.
