PGY 2210C - Portraiture

Prerequisite(s): PGY1401C with C or PGY1800C with C
Corequisite(s): None
This is an intermediate class for students with Photography I skills, Film or Digital and reinforces portraiture as a way of expressing emotion and the human condition. The emphasis is on the continued exploration of personal communication and artistic expression as it relates specifically to the portrait. Students will learn to use studio lighting, backdrops, precise metering. Film students will be introduced to printing with 11x14 fiber paper. The student must have access to a single lens reflex (SLR) camera with a working meter and a lens. The camera’s exposure controls must be able to be operated in the manual mode.
