HUM2450 is an introductory survey of the artistic, literary, and cultural practices of the geographic areas that comprise the United States, which examines their relationships with the varied experiences of people living in and connected to the U.S. from prehistory to the present. Students will encounter selections from the Western canon and will critically analyze and evaluate the ways unique social and historical experiences, ideas, and cultural values are communicated through creative activities and art forms.
