AMH 2035 - US Modern World Since 1945Credit Hours: 3.0 Prerequisite(s): ENC1102 with C or ENC2210 with C Corequisite(s): None This course will examine both the major role performed by the United States in world affairs since the end of World War II and the profound changes the nation has experienced on the domestic scene. Among the major issues to consider are affluence and poverty, civil rights, broader economic and social changes, as well as the political culture that both reflects and shapes these larger historical currents. As a research and writing intensive course, AMH 2035 will allow students the chance to explore the subject through a variety of college-level writing exercises that will include an original research project and may also include essay exams, book reviews, reaction papers, and other discipline specific writing. The primary General Education learning outcome for this class is Information Literacy, the student will verify, document, and organize information from a variety of sources.
