Introduces students to Mandarin Chinese language and culture. The course is designed for students who have no knowledge or limited knowledge of the Chinese language. Instruction will be based on a communicative approach with activities designed to develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. The purpose of the course is to teach students the fundamental skills of Chinese language within the context of contemporary Chinese culture.
