CJK 0012 - LegalCredit Hours: 2.1 Prerequisite(s): None Corequisite(s): None Law enforcement officers’ duties include a variety of responsibilities, such as answering citizen calls, patrolling, determining violations of law, making arrests, using force, and conducting investigations. All of these require a foundational knowledge of the law and the ability to apply that law to specific incidents. To act properly and effectively as law enforcement officers, without infringing on individual rights, students must have an understanding of federal, state, and local laws. You should also become familiar with case law and how it interprets and further explains enacted laws.
