World Dance introduces students to the rich heritage of dance around the world with a focus on dance as an expression of diverse cultural beliefs in the 21st century. This includes selections from the Western cannon. Emphasis is placed on the cultural and historical origins out of which dance has developed, leading the student to a global understanding of and appreciation for dance in today’s multicultural society.
