Introduces students to the French language and to the cultures of French-speaking countries. The course is designed for students who have no or limited knowledge of French. Instruction will be based on the communicative approach with activities designed to develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. The purpose of the course is to teach students the fundamental skills of the French language within the context of contemporary Francophone cultures.
