PGY 2404C - Black and White Darkroom 2

This is an intermediate class for students with Art Photography 1 skills. The student is introduced to advanced camera and darkroom techniques. The emphasis is on the continued exploration of artistic expression using photographic processes as a means of personal communication. Students will print on 11x14 fiber paper, cut window mats, begin a professional quality portfolio, and combine their photo work with other media, such as painting on photos, image transfers, the use of scientific infrared film, and high contrast printing with photo silkscreen materials. Participation in open lab hours will be necessary for successful completion of this course. The student must have access to a 35mm single lens reflex (SLR) camera with a working meter and a lens. The camera’s exposure controls must be able to be operated in the manual mode.
