The certificate in Risk Management and Insurance Operations is an 18-credit hour program that provides students with an introduction to the field of insurance. Students can complete the certificate in two semesters.
The program focuses on personal, property and liability, and commercial insurance knowledge and skills, and supports rapid and high employability. The certificate includes coursework in Principles of Property and Liability Insurance, Personal Insurance, Commercial Insurance, Microsoft Office applications, keyboarding, and an internship course. The certificate articulates to the Associate in Science in Business Administration - Insurance and Risk Management program. Upon successful completion of the Associate of Science program, students are prepared to apply for the 20-44 Personal Lines Agent, 4-40 Customer Representative, and 2-40 Health Insurance Agent State of Florida Licensures.
All courses must be passed with a grade of C or better to receive the certificate.
